Welcome! We created this guide for anyone new to Alkemista and for anyone seeking to up their infused cocktail game. We'll start off with a brief introduction to our product, how to infuse, and provide a few tips on cleaning & care.
Alkemista is an all-in-one infusion vessel that enables anyone to create and serve fresh, custom crafted spirits at home or in a bar. Inside, Alkemista’s ultra-fine stainless steel filter gently introduces the flavors and aromas of fruits, spices, herbs and botanicals into spirits — while preventing unwanted particles from entering the infusion. And the filter is easily removable — transforming the Alkemista into an elegant serving vessel.
Alkemista contains four parts, the base, filter, glass vessel and stopper.
Infusing your favorite spirits and beverages can be accomplished with these simple steps.
Step 1
Add fruits, spices, herbs or botanicals to the infusion filter, then fill with your favorite spirit like whiskey or vodka
Step 2
Allow the flavors and aromas to infuse with the alcohol – just for a few hours or for several days/weeks.
Step 3
Remove the filter, then serve the infused spirit directly from Alkemista, or mix to create fresh, premium cocktails
You can infuse alcohol with virtually anything! But, if you want to jump start your DIY infusions, we offer many of our favorite blends in pre-packaged blend products.
Step 1
Add ingredients to the Alkemista infusion filter. Then fill with your favorite spirit, like whiskey or vodka. Alkemista can hold up to a full bottle (750ml) of your favorite spirit along with your chosen infusion ingredients.
- Fill filter basket with infusions
- Secure bottom lid
- Fill from top with alcohol
- Hold cap and shake to agitate infusion ingredients
Step 2
Allow the flavors and aromas to infuse with the alcohol — for just a few hours or for several days/weeks, depending on your recipe and preference.
- Store infusion in cool, dark place
- Shake daily to agitate infusion ingredients
- Taste regularly until desired flavor is achieved
Pro Tip: Most infusion recipes only require a few hours or days to achieve the desired flavor profile. But making good bitters can take up to 1 month to fully-extract the nuanced flavors of the roots and botanicals.
Step 3
Remove the filter and ingredients from Alkemista then re-attach the bottom lid. Serve the infused spirit directly from Alkemista, or mix to create fresh, premium cocktails. You can safely store your infused creations in Alkemista for as long as you like. Or, pour your creation into one of our empty spirits bottles for longer storage or gift giving.

Anyone can create fantastic infused spirits using nothing more than the fruits, spices and herbs you have around the house. But your infusion recipes can also get as adventurous as you want them too, utilizing exotic and rare ingredients like prickly bear, dragon fruit, etc.
The base alcohol is the spirit you’ll add flavor to. Generally, the higher the proof, the greater the extraction power. For instance, an overproof (100+) bourbon or vodka will pull more flavor out of your infusion ingredients in comparison with a standard 80 proof bottle. Overproof spirits are ideal when you desire an intense flavor profile, or recipes that require an extended infusion time, like bitters.
- Bourbon/Rye
- Scotch
- Vodka
- Rum
- Tequila/Mezcal
- Gin
Opting for organic, all natural ingredients is more than recommended – by doing so, you optimize the flavors of your cocktails, bringing this practice to an art level. At the same time, as alcohol is a powerful solvent, all the pesticides that may be lying on the ingredients you infuse will remain in your cocktail. That is why our mixologists always opt for organic ingredients whenever possible. And always, be sure to wash any fresh ingredients prior to infusing.
GLASS VESSEL: Alkemista’s borosilicate glass vessel is dishwasher safe and designed to endure the rigors of frequent home or bar use.
COMPONENTS: The stainless steel filter, top, and bottom caps should only be WASHED BY HAND in order to preserve the finish and prevent warping of the plastic material.
